Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk
It is 'Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk' Day in the United States today.
It's crazy how there is a day for this phrase "don't cry over spilled milk" but it is such a timely reminder for every day and especially for today.
Meaning of this phrase: There is no use in being upset over situations that have already happened and cannot be changed.
It is Chinese New Year eve today. We might still be holding onto something that has happened and cannot be changed. We are unable to let go and move on.
While I am not going to rush you into moving on, it will be beneficial for you to think about how this phrase might help you.
While I won't say to you not to cry, as crying is a healthy expression of sadness, and sadness is a healthy emotion that all of us will feel. I will advise you not to dwell in it to the point that you neglect all else that is important to you. For examples, yourself and your love ones around you.
Will you be able to move on and not turn back? Will you be able to pick yourself up and clean the mess? Or maybe, if it is appropriate and not too serious, make fun memories out of your 'spilt milk'?
Spilled milk can't be 'unspilled'. Some things can't be reversed. And if we can't change some things, there is no point focusing on how to change the situation or what we could've do instead to change it. Rather, focus on the things that we can control. For example, how we approach it.

How can we approach it?
- See things from a different perspective
- Have a more positive attitude
- How to react to it calmly?
It is not easy to react to "spilled milk" calmly, and with a positive attitude, especially in a fast-paced world, we want things fast, get impatient very quickly, and have too many distractions.
Therefore, again and again, that's where self-care is so important. Because self-care helps us reconnect with ourselves, help us discover ourselves, our inner strength, fill our wellness bucket, and refrain us from getting frustrated easily and feeling burn out and stress quickly.

Here are some ideas to help you practice self-care!
- Learn the joy of massage
- Warm showers/ hot bath
